How does a car salesman get a business phone number?

Updated · By Tej Arora, founder of RazzyTech · US edition

We make Relay Solo, one of the options below. Prices for other products come from their websites, read October 12, 2026.

Short answer

You have five realistic options: use the store’s line, add a free Google Voice number, add a second SIM or eSIM to your phone, get a business line app like Quo, or use a car-sales app like Relay Solo that includes a number and AI replies. If you want customers to have one number that stays yours when you change stores, pick an app-based number you control, not one the store owns.

Common questions

Should a car salesman have a separate business number?

Most reps who build their own book use one, so their personal cell stays private and customers have a number that stays the same if they change stores.

Can I keep my business number if I leave the dealership?

Only if the number is on your own account. A store line or CRM number stays with the store. A Relay Solo number belongs to your Relay account.

Do I have to register a business number to text customers?

In the US, yes, if you text customers for business from a regular 10-digit number. Carriers call it A2P 10DLC registration. Relay files it for you.
