What is Relay Solo?

Relay Solo is a texting and calling app for individual car salespeople. You get your own business number, and an AI texts new leads back for you within seconds, follows up and books appointments on your calendar. It costs US$49 a month for Starter or US$89 for Pro. The US version opens soon. Join the waitlist and we will email you when it does.

Will my dealer allow it?

Ask your manager first, because every store has its own policy. Relay Solo does not connect to or change the store’s CRM, and nothing is installed at the dealership. It is built for the customers you bring in yourself: past buyers, referrals, your social media and Marketplace posts, and people who call your number. Only forward store leads into Relay if your store allows it, and keep logging store leads in the store CRM if that is the rule. Never put credit applications, deal jackets or Social Security numbers in Relay or any outside app.

Do I keep my number if I change dealerships?

Yes. Your Relay number belongs to your Relay account, not to the dealership. Change stores and you keep the same number and the customers you brought in yourself, as long as you keep your plan. Check your pay plan or employment agreement for any rule about store customers. If you cancel, Relay stops sending and receiving on that number.

Can I bring my current cell number?

Not today. Relay gives you a new local number in the area code you pick. Your personal cell stays private, and customers only see your Relay number.

How long does setup take?

Your account is ready in minutes and calls work right away. Texting turns on after carrier approval, typically 5 to 15 business days. We email you 7 days before your first monthly charge, and the 14-day money-back window starts from that first monthly charge.

What is A2P 10DLC registration?

It is how US carriers register businesses that text customers from a regular 10-digit number. A2P means application to person, and 10DLC means 10-digit long code. Unregistered business texts get blocked. Relay files the registration for you during signup. There are two ways to register, and signup asks which fits you. If you sell under your own name and have no EIN, you register as a sole proprietor: your legal name, address, and a YES reply to a code sent to your cell. If you have an EIN for your own LLC or company, you register that business instead. The registration has to describe who is really sending the texts, so pick the one that is true for you.

Do I need an EIN?

No. If you sell under your own name with no EIN, you register as a sole proprietor. If you already have an EIN for your own LLC or company, you register that business, which carriers allow a higher daily texting limit. Signup asks which one fits you.

What is the US$29 carrier registration fee?

US carriers require every business texter to register. We do it for you during signup. Your monthly plan starts only when your texting is approved. The US$29 carrier registration fee is charged once, at signup, and covers a resubmission if the carriers ask for changes.

Does Relay handle TCPA compliance for me?

No app can make your texting legal on its own, and you are responsible for following the TCPA, state laws and your dealership’s policy. Here is what Relay does: STOP replies opt a customer out automatically, your number is registered with US carriers, imported contacts are never texted on import, and AI replies and automated texts only go out between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the customer’s time zone. Text people who asked to hear from you and stop when they say stop. This is not legal advice.

When does the AI text my customers?

When a new lead comes in, Relay sends your first text, and the AI answers when the customer writes back. AI replies and automated texts only go out between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in your customer’s time zone. A lead who texts at 11 p.m. gets an answer the next morning. You can read every message, pause the AI on any customer with one tap, or turn it off.

What will the AI say, and what does it leave to me?

It answers questions like whether the car is still available, offers times and books the appointment on your calendar. It hands the conversation to you on financing, price negotiation and trade-ins, when the customer asks for a person, and when it reaches its message limit. On Starter it sends up to 3 replies per customer every 90 days. Pro has no per-customer cap.

Do customers know they are texting an AI?

Messages go out from your number. In your inbox every AI message is tagged AI, so you always know which ones it sent. Some states have rules about telling people when a bot is part of a sales conversation, and knowing the rules where you sell is your responsibility.

How much does Relay Solo cost?

Starter is US$49 a month with $25 of texts and calls included. Pro is US$89 a month with $50 included. Usage comes out of that balance at 3 cents per text you send, 2.5 cents per text you receive and 3 cents a minute for calls. There is also a one-time US$29 carrier registration fee. Month to month, cancel anytime. Prices in USD.

How many texts do I get?

On Starter, about 830 texts if every one is a text you send, or about 900 at an even mix of sent and received. On Pro, about 1,660 to 1,810. Long texts count as more than one, and calls come out of the same balance. You can top up on the web if you run hot.

Is there a free trial or a guarantee?

There is no free trial. Registering your number with US carriers costs real money the day you sign up, so the only upfront charge is the registration fee. Your monthly plan waits until you can text, and you get 14 days from your first monthly charge to ask for that charge back.

Does it work with lead emails from AutoTrader, Cars.com and CarGurus?

Yes, if your store allows it. You get a personal Relay email address, and any lead email you forward to it, normal or ADF/XML, shows up in your inbox. You can also paste a lead or upload a screenshot.

Can I import my past customers?

Yes. Import an Excel or CSV file on a computer, up to 1,000 rows per file, or pick contacts from your phone in the app. Nobody gets a text when you import, and the AI starts paused on imported contacts.

Is Blast or the AI phone agent available in the US?

Not at launch. Blast sends one message to many past customers at once, and US rules for that kind of marketing text are stricter. The AI that answers phone calls is not offered in the US yet either. Pro in the US includes the AI Assistant and AI replies with no per-customer cap.

Is there an app?

Yes. iPhone, Android and a web version for your computer, all on one account. Incoming calls ring on your lock screen.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel anytime on the web billing page. There is no contract. When you cancel, Relay stops sending and receiving for you, including on your number.

Who makes Relay Solo?

RazzyTech, a small software company in Surrey, British Columbia, founded by Tej Arora. RazzyTech also makes Relay for dealerships. Relay Solo is available in Canada today.

I sell cars in Canada. Can I use it?
